Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is a framework which focuses on consistent, school-wide values and expectations for all students. Its purpose is to create a positive school climate and improve student engagement. For our school, the values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility are the building blocks of our PBL framework.
PBL is an evidence-based approach used in many schools across Australia and internationally. It supports schools to:
- Clearly define and explicitly teach positive behaviours
- Create consistent expectations across all classrooms and playground areas
- Recognise and celebrate positive behaviour
- Support students to make safe and respectful choices
